Handmade and hand-painted at Glastonbury Stained Glass.
Even as the complexities of the Stained Glass Flying Teapot were successfully achieved the Glass pixies in the garage cried, "What next?". The obvious challenge was to produce another iconic daevid allen design, the Bananamoon. I hope you agree, I think they've definitely done it again.
As with the Teapot the piece is constructed around a skillfully painted section which is fired onto the glass in a kiln overnight. Then the cut and shaped elements are soldered around that first section. The years experience of the makers shows not only in the glass painting, cutting and soldering but also in the selection of just the right colour and type of glass to use.
The Bananamoon piece is very similar in size to the Flying Teapot, which is approximately 24cm in diameter. The images here are of the prototype - it is not the Bananamoon which you will receive should you order. Each piece is unique.
To ensure that a Bananamoon arrives safely they are sent very securely padded and wrapped in thick bubble-wrap, then encased in a strong cardboard cruciform box which has been further strengthened (just to be sure) with even more card-board.
