Tarka : Waterscape DVD

Region 0 (All Areas) DVD : Spring Studio Films 2010

Harry's Devonian water-vision for Tarka. Sensual visuals for classic music In 2009 Harry visited the UK from his home in Melbourne, Australia on a quest. He brought with him a professional high definition digital movie camera with the aim to film the stunning countryside near his original home in deepest Devon to capture the sights and atmospheres that inspired his father Henry Williamson to write "Tarka the Otter" and Harry to compose Tarka the music.

It's a beautifully film shot and edited by Harry himself of the rivers, sparkling hidden pools and waterfalls of Devon perfectly fashioned to accompany the original Tarka. Harry has sent about 20 copies over from Australia.

2010 was definitely the year of Tarka. As well as this DVD and the forthcoming Making of Tarka DVD, the orchestral World Premier of Tarka symphony was performed by the Whitehorse Orchestra, conductor Gerald Keuneman with soloists Harry Williamson and guitar virtuoso, Doug de Vries in the Melbourne Town Hall on 27th February 2010.

Tarka was always conceived as a symphony in four movements based on two guitars in different open tunings, the style is influenced by Ravel, Debussey and Sibelius.
